It is essential that marine and water-sports industries order the right type of stickers for their needs.  There are a wide range of ways to manufacture stickers and different types of inks and materials.  Some production methods are not suitable for all weather, underwater or long-term use as they may be using water based inks or paper material.

Harris Screen Print specialises in outdoor grade waterproof stickers that are ideal for applications where durability is essential.  These include surfboards, dive tanks, paddle boards, boats and dinghies. 

The material used is permanent self-adhesive vinyl which is available in both white and clear.  For a different background colour we flood print the material prior to printing the design.  The vinyl material is glossy PVC, which comes on a silicone coated release paper.  This material requires special inks for screen printing which are solvent-based, so the design will not run or smudge.  

We recommend applying the sticker to your outdoor equipment whilst it is clean, dry and free from dust at a temperature no lower than 10degreesc.  Ideally allow 48 hours for it to reach an adhesion suitable for underwater use.   

The stickers can be subjected to temperatures -40degreeesc to +80degreesc.

Surfaces to which the material will be applied must be thoroughly cleaned from dust, grease or any contamination which could affect the adhesion of the sticker.

Freshly lacquered or painted surfaces should be allowed to dry for at least three weeks and to completely cure respectively. The compatibility of selected lacquers and paints should be tested by the user, prior to application of the sticker.

Hi-tack permanent self-adhesive vinyl is also available, which can give high adhesion on irregular substrates, on polythene and polypropylene.    Ideal minimum temperature for application should be no lower than 5degreesc. 

Our hi-tack stickers can be subjected to temperatures up to +100degreesc.
